vision / belief

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – one in being, essence and nature.
The three persons of the Trinity are equal in power and glory, having the same attributes and perfections. God is the Creator of the universe. He has always existed, unchanging and without beginning or end.
He is holy, loving, merciful, forgiving, compassionate, just, and will judge the world in righteousness.
(Deut 6:4-5; Psalm 7:8; John 17:21; Eph 4:6; 1 John 4:8; Rev 1:8)

Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. It was written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is without error or fault in its original form.
We believe that the Bible is the final authority on everything.

(Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:19-21; 2 Tim 3:16-17)

Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who, continuing to be God, added to himself humanity, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to the Virgin Mary.
We believe that Jesus accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross in our place and that our justification is made sure by his physical resurrection from the dead. We believe that Christ ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of the Father where He intercedes on our behalf. We believe that Jesus will return one day to judge all men and will establish His kingdom on Earth, ruling and reigning forever.
(Hebrews 1:8; Luke 1:34-35; John 3:16-17; 1 Tim 2:5-6)

Humanity

We believe that humanity was created in the image and likeness of God, but that through Adam’s willful disobedience (sin) the race fell, inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God.
Since then, man has been sinful in every way and completely unable to remedy his lost condition on his own.
(Gen 1:26-27; Romans 3:10, 23)

Holy Spirit

The Spirit is the presence of God living inside each follower of Christ and is promised to those who profess faith in Jesus and are baptized into Christ’s name.
The Holy Spirit directs believers back to the words of Jesus and helps us apply Christ’s teaching to our lives. He empowers those who follow Jesus for different forms of ministry and gives spiritual gifts to each follower of Jesus for the purpose of ministry.
He empowers the prayer life of a believer and strengthens Christians so that they may overcome spiritual opposition.
He sanctifies followers of Christ, convicts the world of sin, and also guides believers in their faith.
(Romans 8:9-11; Acts 2:38; John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:7-15; Acts 1:8; 1 Thessalonians 1:5; 1 Peter 1:12; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Romans 8:26; Ephesians 2:18; Matthew 12:28; Ephesians 6:10-18; 1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Titus 3:4-7; John 16:8-11; Romans 8:14; Galatians 5:16-18)

Salvation

Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it.
Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty.
We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works.
When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved.
(Romans 6:23; Titus 3:5; John 1:11-12; Eph 2:8-9; 2 Peter 3:9; John 14:6)

Baptism

Through baptism we are joined with the church and with Christians everywhere.
We accept your previous baptism, but will joyfully celebrate your re-baptism is so desired.
Baptism is a symbol of new life and a sign of God’s love and forgiveness of our sins.
Persons of any age that surrenders their life to Jesus Christ can be baptized.
We baptize by sprinkling, immersion or pouring.

(1 Peter 3:21; Acts 2:38)

Communion/Eucharist

The Lord’s Supper is a holy meal of bread and wine that symbolizes the body and blood of Christ.
We believe in the regular taking of communion as an act of remembering what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross.
We practice “open communion”, welcoming all who love Christ, repent of their sins, and seek to live in peace with one another.
(1 Cor. 11:23-26; Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Cor. 10:17)
